Take a good look at the screenshot below. What do you notice? The first question you may have is what the hell is that weird and colorful island there—complete with UFOs and a space station? The second, and probably bigger question, is why is it there? Is it just a strange and unfinished prototype of a game, or is it the very first screenshot of the game, A Tale of Synapse? Your answers to both of these questions will be answered in this post.

In a world where words are broken into their constituent letters and processed into individual phonemes, the idea of a word-processing program that sought to convert a language into a concise, logical structure is not so outlandish. A system like A Tale of Synapse however, is not so much about the logical structure of words as it is about their emotional and social meaning. A Tale of Synapse is a game of manipulation, deception and betrayal. In it, you are the narrator, a not-so-credible author, and you must write a story about the lives of characters you know nothing about. But that is not the only thing that you have to worry about in this game.

It’s been four years since A Tale of Synapse was first released, and it’s finally available digitally. Developed by a team of two, A Tale of Synapse is a first-person action game that follows the story of a group of scientists and their attempt to travel back in time to save the humanity from total collapse.

A collaboration between Tesura Games and Souris-Lab, the world of A Tale of Synapse: The Chaos Theories is available now digitally on Nintendo Switch and on PC via Steam.

A mix of platformer and puzzle game, this game bridges the gap between abstract art and complex science. To make the synapses unbiased, players will use the fundamental constants of the universe in a world based on mathematical logic.

Along the way, players will experience a colorful story featuring the heroes Sci and Nero, who must work together in the world of Hemene. The game features 45 levels of logic puzzles in four different worlds, and players can play with friends in local multiplayer mode.
