Dual Universe is a sci-fi sandbox MMO that promises to be the first of its kind. The game has been in development for over five years and has recently released their latest update, Apollo. In the video, they showcase some of the features and tease what’s coming next.

Dual Universe is a sandbox space game that allows players to explore and build in a universe with unlimited possibilities. The game has been in development for over 2 years, and the developers have just released their newest update: Apollo. The update includes new features such as an improved graphics engine, enhanced physics, and more. They also teased the upcoming Ares update which will be released on December 10th.

Dual Universe launched the Apollo update in early August, which included a number of new system improvements such as asteroid discovery mechanisms, shield generators, and more. Regular players and readers of patch notes aren’t likely to be surprised by any of this, but Novaquark has chosen to use a machinima to highlight the features of this update.

As a fight over a potentially profitable piece of space rock called A-CFJ-749 begins, the film shows both sides of an asteroid finding — the miners and the pirates. The movie not only tells its own narrative, but it also shows how locating asteroids in the game can be both lucrative and hazardous, as well as some ship-to-ship fighting using shield generators. It also has some flat voice acting, but this makes it more fun to watch.

Meanwhile, Novaquark has added the Ares upgrade to its roadmap, which includes PvP changes, warp drive enhancements, and a boarding and docking overhaul.

The public test server (PTS), which includes part (but not all) of the Ares material, is currently available for a limited period, according to the studio. “The other Ares features will be introduced to the PTS in the near future. Log in to get a sneak peek at all the new gizmos.”
