After the Nintendo Direct that announced Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo fans have been looking forward to more details about the game—especially its multiplayer mode. And while there isn’t much to go on yet, Nintendo just announced a whopping 15 new fighters for the newest edition of Smash Bros. These 15 new characters have a few things in common: all are veterans of the Super Smash Bros. franchise, all were revealed in the Direct, and all have a distinct personality.
As announced at the Nintendo Direct in June, we are getting a new entry in the Super Smash Bros. franchise. It will be a single player spin-off, with a new character joining the battle. It will be announced at E3 this year and released in the first half of 2021. What has been revealed so far are the game’s settings and name – the title announced at the Nintendo Direct event is
Well, Animal Crossing: Fans ofNew Horizonsmay be disappointed after the lack of updates today, but Nintendo’s E3 2021 brought plenty of surprises not only for the single player audience, but also for the online multiplayer group we focus on here at MOP. We have updates for Smash Bros Ultimate andMonster Hunter Rise, theWorms RumbleandStrange Brigadeports, and moreMario Party, which will be released. You can check out the full update after the break (including some single player action for fans of ZeldaandMetroid), but let’s take a look at what Nintendo and its partners brought to E3 this year in terms of multiplayer.
. Kazuya’s reveal inSmash Broswas very dramatic in its scenes, but theTekkenfighter seems to have transitioned well into Smashverse. It’s funny how great fighting games likeStreet FighterandKing of Fightershave been combined into one game, and from Nintendo at that. Another fighter has yet to be revealed, but we haven’t seen any clues about his identity yet. Update 3.1 Monster Hunter Riselooks small, especially with itsMonster Hunter Stories 2layers of armor and paid cosmetic DLC (though I admit the penguin is cute), but two of the four events we get are dedicated to new armor. I’ve been complaining lately about the lack of farming content in the game, so let’s see if this armor makes people want to come back or stay in the game. ButMHS2could be a fun multiplayer experience with a cute MHlook. If Capcom is trying to get the core fans ofMHto give the spin-off series a try, I’m not sure the DLC will succeed, but features like online multiplayer and multiplayer will generate a lot of interest. Worms Rumbleabandons the turn-based culture of the series for a real-time 3D action game. The game is already out on PC, PS4 and PS5 and is coming out on the 23rd. June on the Switch. It will also be available on the Xbox One later this year. The game hasn’t been a success on Steam, but perhaps a crossover with the console releases could shake things up a bit. For those who already have the game, the Switch release not only brings exclusive skins for the Switch, but also a new arena: Spaceport Showdown, whose low-gravity mechanisms are randomly generated. Strange Brigadeis another latecomer that has already been released on PS4, Xbox One and PC. At least on Steam, the game’s online population seems sparse, but I remember the game being quite serviceable when I played it at E3 a few years ago. It’s a four-player cooperative online shooter where you and your partners must complete seemingly linear levels, destroy undead and solve puzzles. Think Indiana Jones meets Mummy. There is no cross-play here. So if you don’t want to play solo, you can bring your friends, unless there’s a big untapped market on the Switch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTiFERyYlPY[/embed] Finally, we haveMario Party Superstars, a kind of best of, probably some of the best games from theMario Partyseries (games for N64). Nintendo took board games and minigames from different games, updated the graphics and added a few new features (according to our information) to make this new game. What set the original three Mario Party games apart from some newer games were the different ways players could grip the board. It’s unclear if the feature will return, but Nintendo has said that the game will not only support online play with friends, but also with strangers, so solo players can get in line and find partners around the world. Interestingly, Nintendo has also included stickers in the game to allow for communication between players. We’ll have to wait and see if the connection is reliable enough for players to form alliances during the game. The game includes a single player mode and the option to play only mini-games (yes, the latter option also applies to online play). Nintendo , not, has made these games dependent on motion controls, so you can use Joy-Con or Pro controllers for this game. The game is scheduled for the 29th. October 2021 for Switch. View
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Nintendo have an E3 direct?
Nintendo had a rough start to the year, with the Switch hardware struggling to meet demand, and the online infrastructure for the console being plagued by irate customers. Now, the company is starting to turn things around. New consoles have been announced, a new Mario game is on the way, and their online services aren’t suffering too much from their fan base. Nintendo will host its E3 Direct on June 11th, 2020, and it will be streamed via Twitch. The company’s previous E3 Direct has been a big event in and of itself, and it’s been a while since then, so it’ll be good to see what Nintendo has to offer.
Where can I watch E3 2021?
The E3 show this year is going to be one of the biggest in recent years. Since many games were announced for the first time this year, the big three (Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony) are going to be working hard to sell their press conferences to the fans, who have been watching and waiting for years. However, they won’t have to worry, because all the fans will be able to watch the conferences on the web. E3 2019 is here, and the biggest gaming expo of the year is right around the corner. The big announcement for Nintendo fans in particular is that the next installment in the Super Smash Bros. series is almost certainly coming to Nintendo Switch. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch was announced at the tail end of last year, and a lot of fans have been eagerly awaiting its arrival. For those who don’t know, Super Smash Bros. is an extremely popular fighting game series that has been incredibly successful for Nintendo. Using characters and stages from all of Nintendo’s franchises, the game features two-player battles with a variety of special moves and game mechanics.
Who won E3 2021?
For the last few years, we’ve been seeing Nintendo and Electronic Arts become more and more alike, with both companies adopting a competitive multiplayer mindset in games like Apex Legends and Battlefield 5. Before E3, we know that EA will hold a conference with a competitor Nintendo Switch focused on the Switch’s multiplayer line-up, with EA’s own Battlefield 5 being discussed. EA’s conference will take place at the beginning of June, and the conference will take place after Nintendo’s coverage. At the same time, E3 will be held during the week after Nintendo’s conference, which will be on the 16th June. The E3 conference is an event where the major video game manufacturers gather to show off their upcoming games, and many more games than we can list here.
