As a part of our second public test of the upcoming Neverwinter expansion Storm King’s Thunder, we’re delighted to host an Ask Me Anything session with game designer Jeremy Crawford, developer of the Neverwinter MMO, on Reddit today.

During the upcoming Neverwinter: Storm King’s Thunder expansion, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of new content, mechanics, and features. Not to worry! Ironkraft’s own Chris has been around the game for years, and he’s here to help answer your questions!

word-image-3445 Neverwinterand Neverwinter ‘s plan to lower the level cap from 80 to 20 probably raised a lot of questions among fans (although the developers did provide some explanation). Therefore, developer Cryptic held an AMA yesterday to answer various questions from players regarding the level change. Most of the questions don’t seem to have caught WADA’s attention, but a few answers were in order. First, the developers will be keeping an eye on gold gains, so the new level cap won’t make it difficult to buy health potions and remove enchantments from equipment. Another answer confirmed that there will be several endgames in Module 21, but we don’t have much news to report at this time. Regarding higher level content, another answer confirms that the item level requirements for high instances like VoS and Zariel’s Challenge will not change, but the reduction in the time it takes to max level should allow new players to access endgame content faster. Several questions were raised about the impact of the elimination of zones on skill cards and the availability of skill materials. Both questions have been answered, and it has been confirmed that materials from Mount Hotenow and Pirate’s Skyhold will be moved to new locations in the alignment zones, and that the existing maps and quests for those areas will work. Finally, the developers have assured players that they won’t have to rebuild their current builds and equipment when the new level cap comes; the only thing that will change is the speed at which players reach the level cap. Curious players can spend a few minutes exploring these answers for more details, and be sure to check out our interview with the game’s lead designer for more information. View
