Star Wars continues to dominate pop culture and the film franchise has long since been one of Hollywood’s most lucrative properties. In recent years, the Star Wars IP has become much more profitable with gaming taking a lead in licensing revenue for Lucasfilm. After Disney bought out George Lucas’ entire primary rights to all things Star Wars, they decided it was time for a new game that would maintain continuity while delivering something fresh and exciting. That project is Skydance New Media x LUCASFILM GAMES COLLABORATION: STAR WARS JEDI ORDER 66 which released on November 15th 2018
Lucasfilm Games and Skydance New Media have announced that they are teaming up for a new project. The two companies have not revealed any details about the project, but it is known that the game will be based on Star Wars.
Skydance New Media will work with Lucasfilm Games to create a beautifully cinematic action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe.
According to Amy Hennig, President of Skydance New Media:
“I’ve always stated how watching Star Wars as a 12-year-old in 1977 completely rewired my brain, forever changing my creative life and destiny,” said Hennig, President. “I’m ecstatic to be collaborating with Lucasfilm Games once again to produce interactive tales in this amazing galaxy.” Amy Hennig is a writer from the United States.
Lucasfilm Games Vice President Douglas Reilly added:
“We are delighted to be working with Amy once again. She and the Skydance New Media team have the skill and drive to create a one-of-a-kind Star Wars experience. This cooperation is particularly intriguing because of their ambition for creating appealing, cinematic interactive entertainment. Nintendo has stated that the forthcoming release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for the Nintendo Switch has been altered, which is a very unusual event in today’s game business. It was initially reported that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be released in September of this year, however that date has now been pushed back to July 29th.

Galactic Civilizations IV, the latest edition to the award-winning 4X strategy sandbox genre, has been given a definitive release date by Stardock. Multi-sector maps, tremendous civilization customisation through policies, internal factions, and a completely new quest and unique mission system are all expected to be included in the latest entry in the Galactic Civilizations series.
“The skydance media films produced” is a new project from Lucasfilm Games. The project will be a collaboration with Skydance and Lucasfilm.
